The PCs discover a group of childish ghouls, former children kidnapped by monsters, who eat on carrions for their survival. As the creatures grow up, they are ready to become proper, agressive monsters. As they attempt to defend themselves against the creatures, the PCs find that Endicott is a foolish bigot while his lone follower, Joe the Silent, turns out to be the real brain of the two. They barely make it through: while one of them perishes, two others are grievly injured. Back at Nairobi, they decide to rest while the others keep investigating.
