Les Masques de Nyarlathotep

A veritable line of investigators sets out in pursuit of cultists who want to destroy the world.
The PCs vow to bring the murderer to justice the murderer of the Cowles.

The group decides to investigate the death of Anthony Cowles - assuming it could be linked to a local cult. The investigation stalled fairly quickly, despite access to the police and some clues as to the murderer - a man of great stature, capable of subduing two people at the same time. Nevertheless, the investigators deduce that there could be two murderers: one tears his victims to pieces while the other drowns them. Both act near water points.

On November 2, Mr. Richards warned the group that the Museum thieves had been arrested: they may have been captured while "celebrating" at the edge of a fountain at the Botanical Garden. Suspecting that there was something else behind this "party", the group went to the gardens and discovered that the waterhole around which the aborigines had stripped naked and were singing was deep: the underwater gate giving access to the bay had been partially broken in. As they leave the gardens, Setsuna, Brenda and Lise come across a strange scene: a crowd is arguing over a little girl who almost drowned. The girl tells Lise that she was pushed into the water by a tall man who could be a priest, according to the mystical delusions he gave to his victim.

The group decides to talk to the captives. After convincing their leader - a certain Johnny Jarvis - that they were much more aware of what was going on than most people, the investigators pay the bail of the aborigines who, in return, lead them to an isolated cave. Johnny tells them that the person responsible for the murders is a Bunyip, a multi-millennial spirit who lives in Australia. He intended to lock him up in this cave with the help of the objects stolen from the museum. Aware that they had no choice, the investigators relaunch this plan, convince Richards to lend them the objects freshly returned to the museum and prepare to lead the intriguing Bunyip to his eternal resting place
