Kafey was initially thought as the NPC father of Aromée, along with his wife Vanya. I pictured both parents as the typical crooked couple, corrupt to a fault. I also envisioned Kafey's look akin to Ivan the Terrible's in the eponymous 1944 movie (played by Nikolai Cherkasov).

With time, Kafey's story grew as I deepened his daughter's background, until I got the chance to play the character directly in a tabletop RPG taking place between Episode III and Episode IV of the Saga.
