Dear participants,
With a bit of delay, the next phase of our study is now ready. As indicated in your dashboard, this step requires you to endorse a few annotations, to reply to some, and to post a total of 20 annotations regardless of their nature (structured of free). This phase will end next Thursday, the 5th of November 2020. Make sure you've finished before 23:59 PST!
If Phase 1 isn't finished
You have an extended period of time to finish Phase 1. Although you will see the interface of Phase 2, you will not be able to see others' annotations until you've submitted 5 free and 5 structured annotations. We recommand that you do not proceed with the endorsements before you are done with Phase 1, as it would severly limit the annotations at your disposal.
Endorsements and new price
Your first step will be to endorse 5 annotations that you like. To do so, browse through the annotations and click the "thumb up" icon when you find one of your liking. There's a catch, though: at the end of the study, we will look at the most interesting annotations and reward the participant who managed to endorse the most of them with their first five annotations. The prize will be discussed with the winner, and should account for an additional 100 CHF (~109 USD, 145 CAD, 93€). If you intend to get that prize, take the time to explore the annotations and find the ones you deem really interesting.
You can browse annotations in various places:
- On the visualization, like in Phase 1;
- In a global list;
- Through every character's profile (card or page);
- Through every user's profile (under "stats" on their profile).
Once the task is validated on the dashboard, you'll be able to reply. You are also free to endorse more annotations, although only the first five endorsements will be considered for the prize. You can also mark an annotation as "funny" if needed, as to indicate one that made you laugh.
Replies
Replying to an annotation is very similar to posting a new annotation. Just click the reply button (visible only after you've endorsed 5 annotations), and it will lead you to the visualization with the annotation box ready. You'll notice a summary of the annotation you're replying to above the box: it helps to recontextualize the source annotation, as well as to retrieve topics and complements. By clicking on the subject or the complement of the source annotation, you will restore it directly to yours.
Replies are indicated with a small message in the footer of annotations, and displayed as an arborescence as you click them inside of a list.

Si la phase 1 n'est pas terminée
Vous disposez d'une période prolongée pour terminer la phase 1. Bien que vous verrez l'interface de la phase 2, vous ne pourrez pas voir les annotations des autres avant d'avoir soumis 5 annotations libres et 5 annotations structurées. Nous vous recommandons de ne pas procéder à l'approbation des annotations avant d'avoir terminé la phase 1, car cela limiterait fortement les choix à votre disposition.
Approbations et nouveau prix
Votre première étape sera d'approuver 5 annotations qui vous intéressent. Pour ce faire, parcourez les annotations et cliquez sur l'icône "pouce vers le haut" lorsque vous en trouver une digne d'intérêt. Attention : à la fin de l'étude, nous examinerons les annotations les plus intéressantes et récompenserons le ou la participant·e qui a réussi à endosser le plus grand nombre d'entre elles avec ses cinq premiers choix. Le prix sera discuté avec le ou la gagnant·e, et devrait représenter un supplément de 100 CHF (~109 USD, 145 CAD, 93€). Si vous avez l'intention de recevoir ce prix, prenez le temps d'explorer les annotations et de trouver celles que vous jugez vraiment intéressantes !
Vous pouvez consulter les annotations à différents endroits :
- Sur la visualisation, comme dans la phase 1 ;
- Dans une liste globale ;
- Dans le profil de chaque personnage (carte ou page) ;
- A travers le profil de chaque utilisateur (sous "stats" sur leur profil).
Une fois la tâche validée sur le tableau de bord, vous pourrez répondre aux annotations. Vous êtes également libre d'ajouter d'autres approbations, mais seules les cinq premières seront prises en compte pour le prix. Vous pouvez finalement marquer une annotation comme "drôle" si nécessaire, comme pour indiquer une annotation qui vous a fait rire.
Réponses
Répondre à une annotation est très similaire à la prise d'une nouvelle annotation. Il suffit de cliquer sur le bouton de réponse (visible uniquement après avoir approuvé 5 annotations), et il vous mènera à la visualisation avec la boîte d'annotation prête à l'emploi. Vous remarquerez un résumé de l'annotation à laquelle vous répondez au-dessus de la boîte : il aide à recontextualiser l'annotation source, ainsi qu'à récupérer les sujets et les compléments. En cliquant sur le sujet ou le complément de l'annotation source, vous le restaurerez directement sur la vôtre.
Les réponses sont indiquées par un petit message au bas des annotations, et s'affichent sous forme d'arborescence lorsque vous les cliquez à l'intérieur d'une liste.
