Dear all,
We know that participating in a study is not always the funniest thing to do. Although we hope premDAT has been a pleasant platform to use so far, we settled on some compensations for your help with my study. To thank you for your participation in this study, the Human-IST Institute has decided on the following compensations:
- Those of you who entered three or more characters on the platform will be offered 20CHF (roughly equivalent to 18.5€, 28CAD, 21USD);
- Those of you who will take part in the analysis phase will be offered 80 CHF (roughly equivalent to 74€, 116CAD, 87USD).
All in one, partaking in this study could reward up to 100 CHF. We hope that you find this compensation suitable!
Entering characters
Please enter your characters up to Thursday the 8th of October. After this period, you will still be able to enter new characters, but these won't appear in the graph for the duration of the study. Also, they will not account for the first compensation mentioned above. Please make sure you have at least three characters by the 8th if you'd like the compensation!
The Analysis Phase
The analysis phase will take place over two weeks (ideally from the 12th to the 25th of October, but dates may be extended by one week). During this phase, you will be asked to observe a graph representing the premDAT characters and their similarities. The purpose of this graph is to help you discover information about these characters: your gaming habits, the most common tropes represented, exceptions to the trends, etc. We will ask you to "save" your discoveries through the premDAT interface. This will evolve during the course of the study, although we cannot tell you more about it so as not to influence you beforehand.
In the course of the week, I will add a button on your profile, through which you can notify us of your intention to participate in this analysis phase. We hope that many of you will participate!

Bien que nous espérons que premDAT ait été une plateforme agréable à utiliser jusqu'à présent, nous avons convenu de quelques compensations pour votre aide dans mon étude. Pour vous remercier de votre participation à cette étude, l'Institut Human-IST a décidé des compensations suivantes :
- Celles et ceux d'entre vous qui ont saisi trois personnages ou plus sur la plateforme se verront offrir 20CHF (environ l'équivalent de 18.5€, 28CAD, 21USD) ;

Saisie de personnages
Veuillez saisir vos personnages jusqu'au jeudi 8 octobre. Après cette période, vous pourrez toujours ajouter de nouveaux personnages, mais ceux-ci n'apparaîtront pas dans le graphique pendant la durée de l'étude. De plus, ils ne seront pas pris en compte pour la première compensation mentionnée ci-dessus. Veuillez vous assurer d'avoir au moins trois personnages avant le 8 si vous souhaitez obtenir la compensation !
La phase d'analyse
La phase d'analyse s'étalera sur deux semaines (idéalement, du 12 au 25 octobre, mais les dates sont susceptibles d'être repoussées d'une semaine). Durant cette phase, vous serez appelés à observer un graphique représentant les personnages de premDAT et leur similarité. Ce graphique a pour objectif de vous faire découvrir des informations sur ces personnages : vos habitudes de jeu, les tropes les plus représentées, les exceptions aux tendances, etc. Nous vous demanderons de "sauvegarder" vos découvertes à travers l'interface de premDAT. Celle-ci évoluera au cours de l'étude, bien que nous ne pouvions vous en dire plus à ce sujet afin de ne pas vous influencer en amont.
Au cours de la semaine, je rajouterai un bouton sur votre profil, par lequel vous pourrez nous notifier votre intension de participer à cette phase d'analyse. Nous espérons que vous serez nombreuses et nombreux à y participer !
